Spiritual and Administrative Staff


Pastor: Yeddo Gottel
Born in Santa Catarina, Brazil, Pastor Gottel attended college in Brazil and the Seminary in the U.S.

His main vision for the church is to continue Lutheran teachings and practices, present our Lutheran heritage and sound biblical doctrine to our confirmation age youth and to present the Law and Gospel in a clear manner to the congregation so as to remind them of our constant need for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Pastor’s one great desire is to make the church available to Christians who want to serve the Lord through our ministry.

Board of Directors, Board of Elders, Chairman: Stan Schaefer
Stan has responsibilities in many areas. He Ushers and helps with Communion Distribution almost every Sunday.

He also maintains the service hours on Sundays and serves as an advisor to the acolytes, the choir director and organist.

Stan is responsible for the Ushers, he assists the Pastor in Christian discipline, he helps the Church maintain a proper relationship with the District & Synod and assures that the shut-ins are getting regular visits

Board of Directors, President: Steve Swanson
Steve is involved in many activities within the church and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

As president some of his responsibilities include presiding over the Voter’s Assembly & Board of Directors, setting the agenda for various meetings, appointing all committee members and appointing an auditing committee of two voting members.

Board of Directors, Vice President: Vern Witt
Steve, as Vice President, has many of the same roles as the President of Redeemer has. He will fill in for the President at meetings, set the agenda etc. whenever Steve Swanson cannot be there.

Board of Directors, Board of Education: Jodi Smykalski
Jodi is very involved with our youth and takes an active role in furthering their education and understanding of their role in society.

Jodi promotes, directs and supervises programs of education in the congregation and the pre-School. She also helps in the hiring of teachers, evaluates tuition and aids in the Sunday School.

Jodi also is charged with making sure that all of the proper educational materials are available.

Board of Directors, Board of Stewardship: Herb Modrow
Herb is involved in many capacities within the church. Including helping with ministry, the offerings and other critical areas.

He directs and supervises the stewardship program within the church. He is in charge of distributing the offering envelopes to the congregation. He also has a hand in helping to recommend church members for positions within the Church.

Board of Directors, Board of Evangelism: Tait Turnquist
The Board of Evangelism is the ministry arm of the church to reach the “lost”. Tiat's main duty is to bring people into the church to hear the Word of God.  As the leader of the Evangelism team, he needs to find ways to help those in need and show them the way to heaven. 

He also is involved with the youth during the Parochial School service and Christmas program, and helps out with Sunday school as time permits.

Board of Directors, Board of Trustees: Stan Owens
Stan works very hard to make sure everything runs smoothly from a utility and building standpoint. He is responsible for seeing that the indoor and outdoor areas of the Church are well maintained.

This includes the outdoor lighting and parking lot as well as overseeing indoor maintenance which includes codes, flooring, equipment and heating and cooling.

He is also very helpful during Boy Scout Sunday, Parochial Sunday and the Christmas program as well as video broadcasting the Sunday Service.

Chairman of Committee on Finance, Treasurer: Janice Noerenberg
Janice is actively involved in our church through maintaining our financial health and is also involved with our choir.

As Treasurer her responsibilities include maintaining the church’s financial records. Much of the Church's income is in the form of offerings, which she deposits at a local financial institution.

She also issues checks, receipts and make payments for the Church.

Board of Directors, Secretary: Pam Scheiller
Pam is very involved with the youth and with many other events around the church. 

As Secretary for the Board of Directors Pam records all proceedings, transactions and resolutions for director and congregational meetings

Additionally she maintains a list of all voting members, committee and board members and is responsible for notifying voting members and the Board of Directors of upcoming meetings.
Financial Secretary: Katie Messer
Katie is involved in helping to maintain the financial reports and is also involved in our choir.

Her responsibilities include maintaining a list of communicants and maintaining the offerings from members

Katie also for distributes the quarterly reports to Church members.

Secretary: Judy Eggan
A native Minnesotan, Judy brings an infectious enthusiasm to her job.

Her duties are manyfold , she supports the Pastor and keeps his schedule, answers questions of all types, does the bulletin and the newsletter, keeps in contact with the different boards, keeps the attendance, sends out audio-tapes for members who can't attend church etc.

In her off time she likes to read, fish, camp and spend time with her grandchildren.

Custodian: Scott Scheiller
Beside keeping the Church cool in the summer and warm in the winter (very important in Minnesota) Scott does some of the light maintenance necessary to keep things running, and he keeps the Church spotless not only for Sunday worship service but for all events.
Rev. Dr. Jan Pavel served Redeemer Lutheran as the Senior Pastor from 1987-1995. Prior to that he served Redeemer as Assistant Pastor from 1965-1987 and was a fulltime Professor at Concordia University, St. Paul, teaching Latin, Greek, and Theology from 1950-1987.  He graduated from Concordia Seminary St. Louis, MO with a Master of Divinty degree.  The following year he graduated from Washington University, St. Louis, MO with a Master of Arts degree in Greek and Latin Classical Studies.  Pastor Pavel retired from fulltime ministry in 1995 and while no longer technically a staff member or office holder he is still considered a friend of the Church and continues to serve the congregation as needed.
